Holistic Chinese Medical Care for All Ages

Welcome to the Family Acupuncture Center |
Let the Healing Begin
Relaxation and balanced Qi begin the moment you open the door. The peaceful and harmonious decor features pieces of original artwork and photography, soothing colors and running fountains. The treatment rooms are spacious, beautiful and relaxing.
The Family Acupuncture Center was established in 2004 and continues to be operated exclusively by Kay Madsen, Nationally Board Certified (NCCAOM), Licensed Acupuncturist. It was founded on the concept that medical care should be provided from the vantage point that each patient is a unique whole person. Treatment attention is highly individualized.
Kay applies her extensive knowledge of Chinese medicine to provide her patients with relief from their health concerns, often where conventional Western medical efforts have failed. (See how her patients feel about her care in the testimonials.)
If unfamiliar with acupuncture, you may be wondering whether it can help you with your concerns. Kay has achieved clinical success for a wide range of problems. Many find effective pain resolution. She also routinely treats women's issues, such as PMS, infertility, other menstrual problems, and menopausal symptoms. Sleep problems, digestive dysfunction, allergies, migraines, fatigue, depression, and anxiety. The list goes on.
Some of you may be familiar with acupuncture and are looking for a practitioner with a specific treatment philosophy. Maryland is one of the few states that does not require national board certification (NCCAOM). Even nationally, there is no consistent standard of care. For that reason, there are widely differing treatment styles among acupuncturists. If you haven't had a successful experience in the past, it may be beneficial to try a practitioner with a different practice style, before you decide that acupuncture doesn't work.
When patients feel the benefits Chinese medicine brings, their new found balance radiates directly into their own homes. Often times, other family members are inspired to come for treatment, turning this practice into true whole family care.
Chinese medicine is the primary care for Kay's own family. This has inspired her to offer treatment to children of all ages. It is her vision that providing drug free holistic care early in life is the greatest gift that we can give our future generations. Following the tradition of "cradle to grave" Chinese medical practice, she has experience in treating all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics and everything in between.
